The Four Seasons Hotel Singapore is located on Orchard Rd, in the city centre. Walking in to the Four Seasons Spa you'll see an enormous central fish tank - which will have you peering hopefully through gliding fishes for an attractive stranger - ala Baz Luhrmann's Romeo & Juliet. Look around and you may spot a celeb, for the hotel is a favourite of such notoriety. A low-lit lounge area will beckon you to sit and chill, as the sounds of trickling water serenade your senses. If hungry, why not indulge in complementary snacks and drinks, including fruit, nuts, chilled lemon water, tea and coffee. Or, try one of their wonderful iced teas - organic peppermint or lychee. My tip is to arrive early, take a dip in the pool, or workout in the fitness centre beforehand. The friendly staff who greet on arrival will remind you when it's time for your booked treatment.
After you've made your way upstairs to the spa, choose from a selection of divine massage, facial and body treatments, spa rituals, and salon services, aka a complete journey into sensory heaven.
The immaculate change rooms have wonderfully comfortable facilities. Inside large lockers are gown and slippers to wear, and coat hangers with plenty of hanging space. A sauna and lemongrass scented steam room allow for a relaxing skin and muscles prep in warm temperatures. Four Seasons branded lotions and potions are offered for shower time, and hair dryer and hairspray are useful. But first is some escapism.
The Signature massage at Four Season's Hotel Spa in Singapore, which I highly recommend, is aptly named The Reviver. Escorted to your private room, 60 minutes of full body revival therapy begins to soothing sounds of classical music. A trained masseuse requests your preferred warming scented oil, which your skin will soak up, whilst you relax on your cushioned massage table. Massage technique is inspired by Asian therapies and works on releasing muscular tension, and stimulating deep relaxation of the mind and body. After checking the pressure is to your liking, your legs, arms, back, stomach and head are kneaded with firm strokes on particular pressure points, to restore the body's energy. Soon you will feel an overall wellness and indeed - revived.
